Ebor; Part 2
We've really enjoyed our little break in York; amazing how much you can fit in with only one night away. Last night we went to the little Italian restaurant near the hotel. The name of the restaurant, Lo Spuntino, sounded more like an ailment than a restaurant ("Excuse me Doctor, I think I've got Lo Spuntino at the moment; can you recommend anything for it?") but was absolutely superb. Everything you would want from an Italian restaurant; family run, bustling, a great atmosphere and the food was lovely. This morning it was pouring with rain until midday so we went to the Railway Museum, getting in early before the hordes arrived. The picture is 'Duchess of Hamilton' which was one of the LMS streamlined trains and which has a fair level of support to be restored to working order now that Flying Scotsman is finished.
After a very nice pint of Thornbridge IPA in the York Tap (which I can thoroughly recommend to any beer lovers - they have about 20 different and unusual beers available) we got a late afternoon train home.
