Closeburn Parish Church

This mini-cathedral in the middle of very little was built in 1878.  The graveyard is much older, and contains the remains of my relatives, such as John Rae who died in 1842.    I haven't found the grave, made an attempt today but too wet too linger.   Must return.

There were two abandoned mowers in the graveyard - the operatives sheltering in their lorry.    I couldn't get the lens dry for long enough to escape the smear effect - but it does show what's happening with the day.
