I'm sure the neighbours who don't know His Lordship and me must be convinced that our exit from the Dower House before 8am on another dismal damp Sunday has to be for religious devotion at early Mass. Little do they realise that it is for first sitting at the Temple of Toast where we are accorded priority seating and celebrity status on account of our long standing worship there.
Today we were rewarded with the prize of 2lbs of the patron's homemade marmalade for almost perfect attendance.
Many of you reading this or remembering from past blips our Sunday toast ritual have expressed disbelief and wondered at the sanity of a couple in possession of two bus passes who will walk three quarters of a mile just to eat toast. I agree, it is crazy and makes little sense, but hey, each to his own and we do slot in some exercise before the weighty occupation of reading the Sunday Papers.
This blip which is going to be tagged under DerelictSunday shows the newest phase of foundation digging at Quartermile. It is interesting to spot the white tiles of a buried wall of the old Infirmary and the previous building foundations.
