Ruins
I was shocked when I saw this house, nearly two blocks away from our house, In Kavacik. The house seemed like a haunted house, and there were trash everywhere near the house. I had seen this house with my dad, and he was nearly as shocked as I was. We even made a bet that my dad wouldn't be able to go in there, and in fact he did, and he scared me by not getting out for a couple of minutes! This picture means a lot to me, as it has a funny story behind it, and the idea that there are very interesting things around us that we haven't noticed is very shocking for me.
It is funny how we, as people, sometimes don't even realize some interesting things around where we live. I have been living at Kavacik for seven years now, and I have never noticed such a structure. Considering how it is really big and attention taking, it is quite odd how I have missed that out. I guess sometimes, there are things right in front of our faces that we don't notice... Other than its philosophical aspect, this picture also shows a lot about the situation of the urban environment in Istanbul. There are such abandoned and rotted ruins in discreet streets, and there are plazas and expensive offices in the main parts of the city.
