Lady's Smock

Today I saw my first Lady's Smock, otherwise known as Cuckoo Flower. I'm always pleased to see them as the flowers  are so pretty as well as heralding the appearance of one of my favourite butterflies, the Orange tip.  The flower is it's food plant as well as being where the eggs will be laid. 

The showers stopped this afternoon and I got some much needed gardening done. I've a small pond in the garden that usually has frogs in. Today I saw a newt there for the first time - very exciting!
