A long day in Manchester today, waiting for my car to be repaired. It failed its MOT due to a warning light about a faulty airbag. It seems this was caused by some loose wiring connections. £373.99, thank you very much sir.

In other consumer news, in advance of a trip to Germany to see a football match in the near future, a few days ago the airline got in touch to say the flight back had been cancelled in February.  So, we had to rearrange flights. A complaint is pending - that's you KLM!

Then today, an email arrived saying the match has been put back by 24 hours, necessitating another change of flights and an extra night in a hotel.

Today's extra is one of two pea hens who have arrived in our back garden.  The peacock's cries can be heard, asking where on earth they have got to.
