Can't get it any fresher!
We had a great active day today. We woke up early to be at Mangel Halto beach by 9 am. We were going on a SUP Eco tour of the mangrove forests. Despite the fact I didn't manage to stand up on the board (my balance and core muscles are not quite back where they were before the myelitis hit..) I had no problem keeping up. I am hoping Dennis, our guide will send us through the photos he took along the way. It was great morning on the water, in between the mangroves the water was extremely clear. It was also very green, in contrast to the rest of Aruba, which hasn't seen any rain to speak of for 3 years!
In the afternoon we came back to Mangel Halto to snorkel. It was by far the best snorkelling so far, with big part of undisturbed reef and many big fish and urchins.
The photo, however, is from the restaurant we had dinner tonight - De Zeerrovers (the Pirates). Here local fishermen will land catches a couple of times a day. The fish is immediately processed (as you can see here) and the sold (like a fish market) or it goes to the Zeerover's counter where you can order how much fish you want and what side dishes you want as well. It is then cooked and served at your table. The tables are on the covered deck above the water. Today's fish was red snapper and mahi mahi. We had mahi mahi, baked bananas, Antilles steamed bread and French fries.
Yum!
