Magnolia Stellata

Thank you to my friend Stef for the identification, I had no idea what it was other than it was rather pretty. It was disappointing to learn that the flowers won't last long and it really doesn't like the rain, so no point getting one for my garden.

It has been planted outside the restaurant where I lunched with Louise today. She is leaving in a couple of weeks and today she talked and talked and talked! I had finished my lunch before she had even started hers! Good thing it was salad!

I caught a passing glimpse of friend FlyingPRGal as I was leaving. I am so pleased that she is coming back to cover a maternity leave and I will get to see more of her over a costa!
