The Proposal

In the extra is the proposal by a chap who had just finished the GodZone Adventure race. He had  six days growth on his face, hadn't washed in all that time and probably only had about 14 hours sleep if that. Someone remarked "he's delirious" but she said yes.
We had gone down to Kaiteriteri to see what teams were finishing this afternoon. We saw three come in to small but enthusiastic crowds.
All the competitors are raving about the wonderful scenery they have seen on Mt Owen which was a site used in Lord of the Rings. Also the Red Hills, the Abel Tasman National Park, the rivers and bush and best of all the people who turned out at all times of the day and night to cheer them on as they passed.
Still half the teams yet to come and tomorrow the secondary schools 12 hour adventure race is run from Kaiteriteri as well. The place is buzzing.

The zinnia I saw in a garden on my early morning walk round the block this morning.
