After the Deluge

There were severe weather warnings. Flash flood warnings. Our caravan retreat was right in the middle. As we were beside a lake, I was very anxious that the waters would rise .....

I had my travelling spinning wheel with me, the idea to sit and spin in the caravan awning. However, the niddy-noddy tool for winding the spun wool into hanks had a new function - pushing up the awning roof to cause the rainwater that had collected there to run off.

The next day, the whole caravan rally park was sodden and water lay in huge puddles that were big enough and deep enough to accommodate the local ducks.
