Blue bells for a sad day
Typically as we had to be up and out not long after 9........it was preceded by another rubbish night, still awake after 3am, must have dropped off after that, woken by the alarm at 8 :-/
Once I was up and showered didn't feel to bad.
We drove across to the church on the outskirts of Liverpool, parked up near where the Wake was to be held afterwards, then walked back over to the church....we were first inside. After a while, a few more people arrived.........everyone was invited to stand, as the Cortage arrived, followed by DiLs large family, then friends, then neighbours.....and they kept on coming....the church was absolutely packed....100+ people there to pay their respects to one of life's real gentlemen, RIP Mo, now reunited with his beloved Maureen.
After a beautiful service and committal, everyone met back at the social club where Mo spent a lot of his time dancing and socialising in his younger years, so it was a fitting end to a sad day.
Once we left and got home, hub wanted to watch the racing at Aintree, so I took myself off for a couple of hours with my camera. Had a long and pleasant walk, probably 3/4 miles along the canal bank. Its not very often I get to spend any time alone, so I did rather enjoy the solitude.
I took a lot of shots as I wandere, but as its Flower Friday, I've selected this image as they are the first bluebells I've seen this year. They are also a fitting tribute; today's mood is blue and there were bells in the church . So todays blip is "Bluebells" for Morris.
