Birmingham Canal Main Line
A sunny, showery and heavy rain day on the canal to Birmingham. This is one of the beautiful bridges on the way.
Only one lock today! On the way we cruised through Netherton Tunnel which is 3027 yards long and was the last canal tunnel to be built in Britain (1858). It is wide enough for boats to pass and has a towpath on both sides. We passed a couple of boats going through the tunnel which was very disconcerting!
Staying here in Birmingham for a couple of nights.
