Day 35 - Whakahoro

Chilled morning, set off from Taupo at mid day heading to Whakahoro, we made a beer stop and then took the 2 hour windy bus journey to blue duck lodge. When we arrived the lady that owns the lodge explained all about it and how they are helping to protected the native birds of New Zealand. Which meant putting out traps to kill the mammals that hunt them, she showed us one of the traps. I'm not sure how I felt about it really it seemed pretty brutal. After signing in we all picked our rooms in the main lodge which is lovely. I was sharing with alma a girl from Sweden who is cool. A lot of people went to the main house and had a lamb dinner me and a few others stayed back and had beans on toast! When they all come back we had some beers and roasted marshmallows around a camp fire under the stars. Was a nice evening
