Port de Soller

Had a train and a tram trip to Port de Soller, this was of Michael Portillo's 'Great Train Journeys' and the scenery was spectacular with the mountains and the olive and orange groves. But the most amazing thing was the train went right through the middle Palma, just hooting for people to get out of the way! When we got to Soller, the tram/train went right through the crowded market place (see extra), what would 'elth and safety' have to say about that then!

Port de Soller is a beautiful natural harbour with sandy beaches all round, a couple of degrees warmer and I would have been in that water! The view above is of the open water, bright blue as opposed to turquoise  in the bay. Quite a climb to get to the top but worth it for the view.

The other extra is the driving mechanism from the train, from the long gone days when we used to produce steel and heavy machinery!
