Diary of an Edinburgher

Gardening

Kerri and Luke came this morning to take Archie out - they haven't been able to come for ages, having busy weekends, but he welcomed them as if it was only last week.

And so we were both able to do some gardening without being 'helped' by Archie. Well, I just did a bit of sawing of some branches of a straggly big bush I cut out ages ago. They were only about a finger's width, so not too puggling for me. And I took down the bits of fencing that I spent a lot of time doing when he was a puppy. Though I couldn't be bothered washing the path, I am reminded in the photo...

JR did loads - new planters planted up, weeding, scrubbing the pavers. The wee garden is looking very tidy now. One more big planter to fill up, but Archie seems happy with the progress so far.

The garden is just the right size for us, having had nearly an acre to look after in NZ for about 20 years and spending every weekend in it, not to mention spending a fortune!

This is the last day of the last school holidays JR will have. Retirement beckons at the end of the summer term! And this term is full of Monday holidays.

My favourite feature of blipfoto - checking out what we were doing last year.
