AMBLING ALONG

We had an earlier start this morning, having breakfast  at 7am as the guides  wanted us to be in the restricted area of the Donana Reserve by 8am. We were picked up by reserve rangers in 4x4 vehicles and drove slowly round for a couple of hours looking for the Iberian Lynx. Although we were unsuccessful we did see lots of wild boar, red and fallow deer, hares and a fox.
We had a walk round some parts of the restricted area and had a fruitful day with raptor sightings.

We had lunch in a restaurant back near our hotel and then had a rest of one and a half hours as it had become so hot. We were back out on the reserve at 3.30pm looking in different areas and then at about 6pm we drove back to the area we were most likely to see Lynx, again, no luck. So back to the hotel for our evening meal at 8pm.
My blip is of a horse rider going down the road. The town we stayed in was a horse town(more horses than the number of people) The roads were all of sand - no pavements or built roads. All the houses had horse shelters and places to tie the horses - it really was like a cowboy town.
My extras are a corn bunting, I think the most prolific bird with black kites. The second picture is of the group, getting set up.
