Above And Beyond...

Wet Wet Wet

We were just about to sit down to breakfast when Mrs BB noticed something flapping around on our patio and called me to look. It turned out to be the lovely friendly blue tit in the photo above. It was belting down with rain and I suspect the extra weight of its sodden coat was to much to prevent lift-off. We thought it was a baby but are informed it's an adult.

Mrs BB went and picked it up and brought it into the kitchen where it seemed quite happy hopping about and helping himself to some bird food we put down on the floor. So whilst we had breakfast our visitor dried off, regained strength, and entertained us. It didn't seem too stressed or frightened. Half hour later we slid open the patio door and after a while it flew off. Later there were a few small blue tits on a tree in our garden and I presume it'd found his family.

Yesterday I photographed a bird that didn't want to fly and today a bird that couldn't - a nice contrast!
