Lichen

Many trees here have lichen growing in them. This means there is none or little pollution because lichen cannot grow where pollutants are present

There are farmhouses close by but no human habitation can be seen from the cottage

This environment is completely the opposite to what I am used to and in loving it. But in sure I'll enjoy being back to the hustle and bustle of London next week

This morning I drove the few miles into Aboyne, the nearest village and enjoyed a walk around. I can vouch that the natives are friendly
