Mr Blue Sky
No blue skies were seen in Glasgow but today the sun shone on Inverness.
Mike had a meeting so I went for a walk along the River Ness. I walked below the Castle with the sound of the river lapping bellow and the sweet smell of the hundreds of daffodils that lined the grass banks of the river and below the Castle. Lots of different shades of yellow from very pale to a deeper shade with an orange centre.
I walked along the otherside of the river in the warm sunshine with no need to wear a coat. I crossed the white wobbly bridge and then down to Ness Islands.
The present castle was built in 1835 and at the present time is used as a Court House this is due to change and it is hoped that the Castle, possibly the North Tower will be open to the public. Several ideas have been put forward including extending the Museum and art gallery next door into some of the rooms and also as a Wedding Venue. Their are fine views from the Castle down both ways of the River Ness. A brass statue, which you can just see, of Flora Macdonald stands proud at the entrance, she is often seen wearing an Inverness Caledonian thistle football club scarf :)
