Lathyrus Odoratus

Snake substitute

Setting off this morning with the spaniel I decided not to take my camera because it looked like it would rain. It didn't, at least not for the first hour. Inevitably I saw my first small tortoiseshell butterfly of the year and then a pair of adders basking. Rushed home to get the camera. Came back to the reserve and the heavens opened. So, no photograph of the adders. The best I can do today is the snake's head fritillary.
