Afternoon light #4

It is my sister SweetArt's birthday today! :D  I think she has been thoroughly ruined by her friends and family over in HK!

Another much needed day staying put at home! Got some admin sorted for the projects we did in Cyprus. Then decided, it really did look too nice outside to not enjoy some of it, so while getting ready, I spotted the sun on the gum tree that is right outside my window. A strong breeze moved the leaves in a gentle sway. It was the sort of moment that you wish blip allowed short videos because that is what was needed for this shot.

We actually braved Carrefour on a Saturday evening to do the weekly shop - and survived! Went to collect a watch I'd given to have the battery changed, and was reminded again about the superb customer service received in Cyprus and how awful it is here in Dubai. Shop assistants who just go by the book and never think outside the box; never mind the inconvenience to the customer.

And then, I experienced more of the same whilst trying to order dinner. Argh! What is it about this place?! It either attracts them, or makes them like robots. There is a predominant nationality here whom you just can't talk sense with. Ok. Rant over.
