Memories

Mimi is a lovely, gentle Jewish lady who does gym with us and knowing that she was born and raised in Egypt and studied at a British school, I was sure she would enjoy Alexander Murray’s “Egypt’s Thousand Days of Revolution”. Today she brought the book back and didn’t spare the praise. She said it had made her feel the heat and taste the dust and told of her emotion on reading the passages about Alexandria, her birthplace. She has only been back to Egypt once since she left and didn’t like what she found, but she loved the book, Alexander’s style of writing and the memories it evoked.
