New Zealand lamb.

Sixty million sheep,
Once grazed the New Zealand hills,
Not so many now.


Back in the 70's the ratio of sheep to people in N.Z  was 20:1. That ratio has halved these days. This is a group of 6 month old lambs on my farm.
In keeping with the sheep theme ,tonight I saw the NZ movie "Mahana" which is about a Maori family who ran a big shearing gang . based on the novel "Bulibasha" by Witi Ihimeira it tells of a very patriarchal and hard working family. I found it very authentic and really enjoyed it.
