Periyar National Park

Unfortunately the elephants stayed away, but we had an excellent mornings hike and raft ride. The highlight for me was a giant Indian hornbill flying overhead, the sound of its windbeats was incredible. Pictured is a little cormorant, we were entertained
watching them and the kingfishers catch their lunch.

In the evening we did a cooking class with a lovely family and discovered that the secret to good curry is 'mixing, mixing!'

New food: okra and coconut curry (amazing), pineapple curry (too sweet for a main course I reckon)
