We packed up some bits and bobs for a brunch picnic and we collected some bacon and sausages from the supermarket. We then drove to a close (45min way) national park. The facilities were fantastic and incredibly clean. Chris cooked brunch on the free BBQ's. Sun shining, birds singing and us cooking!
The area was overcome by fire in 2009 - Black Saturday - this is the memorial......
We ended up taking a tourist drive which was very pretty and enjoyed a quick half hour stop at Stonefields and an open 'house / garden' day. In our opinion not worth the entry fee, but one of those 'tourist' things you do!
We got home at 6pm (5hr round trip in terms of driving today!). Chris spoke to his dad and gran...his gran has her hip op in a few weeks and I congratulated my niece twice on her 19th birthday....she kindly reminded me that she is 20!!! ohwhoops!! first time ever I have made such a mistake!!
