Good Clean Fun

We had a fun day today with my nordic neice and nephew and they parents at my mum and dads house.

Given that my little ones were not asleep to near 11pm last night we tried out best to keep every one in bed as long as possible this morning but that wasn't altogether successful as it would seem when your cousins are around there is more fun to be had rampaging around the house in the early hours of the morning.

And so the day kicked off with a trip, for some, to the local park first thing and then later a little further afield at a local country park for a giant game of tig in the fort, a picnic in the drizzle and a treasure hunt of sorts in the sunshine. With the legs tiring we left the park and headed for some scientific action in the local Arran Aromatics shop.

What a great experience. The little ones all got the opportunity to make their own soap, choosing an inset shape, a fragrance and the colour, inserting things with droplets from pipettes, mixing it all up and leaving it to set. Half an hour and some coffee and juice later and the soaps were ready to collect having been packaged up beautifully complete with certificates for the handiwork. They all took the experience very seriously and looked the part in their googles and labcoats and each completed soap was completely unique.

I wonder when we will get round to use them!
