Draw The Shades

July here has been hot, mostly sunny and unusually humid. Drawing curtains and shades through the day along with our nice new insulation has been helping me to regard the hot summer weather as impressive rather than oppressive. Summer is short, winter is long. Might as well savour the heat. Although I try to keep it outdoors.

It was the texture of this piece of stained glass that I liked viewed through the kitchen window shade. At the risk of being smart alecky though, a person could wonder whether this dove is lifting her wings just to cool off her wing pits there in the hot west window.
