Until just a couple of years ago the local castle was a rather beautiful place. The previous owners had restored it to it's original state under the watchful eye of Historic Scotland and to visit there was a joy. 
Now we can see that the current owners plans to turn it into a wedding venue are well under way and it looks as if some interesting parts of the building have been removed to make way for what looks like either a dining/wedding reception area or accommodation or both. Knowing the castle quite well I can't help feeling that several centuries of history have been put to one side in a very short time. I hope it does well but feel a little sad. Progress eh?
