Family Portrait
My Mothers family. Taken in the late 1930's at Tenafly NJ. My Mother is the gal in the middle with the black dress. My Grandparents are in front. The young boy and the gal in the white dress in back are my Uncle Alfred and Aunt Kay, the only ones still alive. I remember the lively times around the house with the wonderful Aunts and Uncles and their friends and spouses, never a dull moment.
The posing and serious demeanor of the picture is typical of the era. It was an event to take a family portrait then, very different today. I thought the photo is B&W but the brown jacket has me confused it showed up when i removed a yellow cast in photo shop. have to take a closer look it may be toned or even a faded color foto.
