Today saw two excited young ladies take to the road again with their dutiful mothers to see the band again. 5SOS! (5 seconds of summer).

Us dutiful mothers have also seen this band in action when we took the girls to see One Direction, you may recall a horrendous taxi ride with Kenny 'The shuffler' Taylor. Anyway, we had to admit on that night we did prefer the support band to 1D which was 5SOS! (do you see what I'm doing here? ,I'm abbreviating like the teenagers!)

After a slightly adventurous journey over to the Metro Arena I once again found myself on the wrong side of the town heading for Blaydon Races. Logic tells me the metro arena will be near the metro centre, which it is but as the crow flies not as I'm driving.

Luckily we all have modern mobile phones, so google, which was slow, get a map and nothing could be easier, only I like to know if I am going right to left not east or west. Geography was never and still is not a strong point.

After backwards and forwards we finally saw where we should be, what a welcome sight and two happy teenagers. With the car parked with ease ready for a quick get away after the concert the girls disembarked the vehicle and set off to see their band.

Dutiful mothers were left to entertain themselves for the next 4 hours or so. It wasn't too difficult actually and with a lovely pizza (low cal: abreviation!) At pizza express sweet and coffee too we filled a little time there which was pleasant and non rushed. After a satisfying meal we headed back towards the metro arena stopping off for a coke in a hotel we found ourselves in when we were on a similar mission last time.

A phone call from the girls to say the concert had ended us dutiful mothers had to swiftly finish our drinks and continue the walk back to meet the girls. It made a change for them to be sat waiting in the cold for us rather than us freezing waiting for them.

A safe journey home, well a journey home not sure how safe it was, as I kept hitting roundabouts and just kept going! We made it. Two tired teenagers and two very dutiful mothers had another successful and pleasant trip away.
