Wood Anemones
This morning, I decided to go to Swithland Wood rather than Burleigh Wood to hunt for bluebells. There are some swathes of bluebells in Swithland Wood but the predominating flower is the wood anemone. The floor of the woodland is studded with them. They seem so delicate. Instead of stars in the firmament, they are stars of the woodland.
Basil had a smashing time running around in the wood, and met lots of chums. We were there around two hours.
I couldn't motivate myself to mount two photos for the next club competition, so must finish tomorrow or Friday before going away.
To Smisby Village Hall in the evening for the annual 3-way print contest between Shepshed, Ashby and Coalville camera clubs. Ashby and Coalville won by miles. Shepshed was well down.
My rendition of Ophelia in Autumn was damned because, 'acers just aren't that red,' and, 'her hands are red, they should have been blue.' Sorry Mr Cheetham, you really didn't know what you were talking about when you said that. I'll concede that probably there wasn't enough texture in the leaves. Put that down to lack of dof and use of blending modes.
