Loughborough Wall Art

Charnwood Borough Council seems to be intent on promoting an image of Loughborough as being an idyllic town set amidst rolling countryside and natural charm. Where there is a natural bathing place, with fish, in Loughborough, I really couldn't tell you, but this is presumably what this panel of wall art is intended to say. It's certainly not in Queen's Park if the tower in the background is meant to represent the Carillon.

And if CBC has its way, the rolling hills and vales will be covered in housing before too long.

Loughborough is grey. It isn't quaint or charming. Paintings on the hoardings and ironwork signs over the entrance to historical streets seem to be an attempt to detract from the drabness.

Loughborough councillors of the past have only themselves to blame. Along with myriads of councils across the land they tore out the historical centres of our towns and villages. Mustn't go on.
