Golden Pygmy

Leaf mines of the micro moth Stigmella aurella (agg.)

One of a group of very similar looking moths where identifying individual species presents huge problems. This large group of moths are all tiny and the shape of the pale gallery or blotch created by the larva as it feeds is usually a better means of identification than comparing the adult moths. The foodplant is Bramble and these whitish mines are a familiar sight on the leaves - this is probably the commonest and most widespread leaf miner in the UK.

Update: 
I've just learned that there is a "3 colour" theme to AbstractThursday43. I've just checked the histogram and I'm reasonably sure there are three colours in here, RGB, RGB and RGB ;-)
