Day Nine: We Don't Do Fries
As we get towards the tailend of the holiday we go back and revisit the spots we have particularly enjoyed (such as Buda castle) or perhaps were too crowded to appreciate on the first visit such as the Budapest Great Market Hall which we revisited today (a bit earlier in the day to avoid the crowds). This is a place of extremes....downstairs is packed with hundreds af stalls selling healthy fruit and veg whereas upstairs there are many Hungarian food and drink stalls. Hungary is clearly a very civilised country as you can get beer served to you whilst shopping! The food is amazing but not exactly slimming...it's also fantastic value....this is me waiting for my Hungarian sausage....my wife had a potato strudel from another stall downstairs (actually a lot more tasty than it sounds!). We also stocked up on souvenirs (including a three-way chess set...still working out how to play it) and a lot of far eastern ornaments etc from a nearby shop....off to Hard Rock cafe for tea tonight (again!).
