Goldfinches
An early morning photo.
A good job as it was the only one I took today.
After a visit to the farm shop, to buy some sea bass from Alan, I spent most of the morning installing a new printer.
The first time I have had a wireless one.
Don't you just love warnings which say :
" The following are instructions that, if ignored, could result in death, or serious personal injury caused by incorrect operation of the equipment.
These must be observed for safe operation."
I wonder why you don't get this sort of warning when you buy something like a car!
Anyhow after going through the paper manual part 1 and 2 for set up.
Then following the Online manual. It actually works!
Called to see Tom this afternoon.
His tomato plants are only about 3 or 4 inches high. ( the first lot got eaten by rats if you remember.)
He says it will be August before he has any. They looked as if they needed watering, but didn't like saying anything.
Also the ducks had all gone from the pond. Just a few mallard left and a couple of Canada geese.
They council are going to drain it, and get rid off all the silt. Strengthen the sides, cut down some willow trees , pull up the irises, and plant some wild flowers.
I hope they don't spoil it, and it looks OK when they have finished.
The special ducks will be back later.
Tonight I have spent a lot of time on Ancestry yet again. Today was a free day for looking at Parish Registers.
Found out a couple of interesting facts.
Really must go down to Bradford Library sometime.
Hope you are all enjoying the weekend.
It has certainly turned cold. Too cold for MrC to stain/varnish the garden seat.
Needs to be over 10c and it wasn't that today.
Too cold to sit out on it anyway!
