Ouch. That sounds old.

Lovely, lovely birthday morning - nice long bath with the papers, followed by presents and coffee and breakfast and champagne and chocolates in bed. We stayed all cosied up in the duvet listening to all the radio shows we always miss on 'listen again' until nearly 3pm!

It was bliss.

Arlo came back from his granny's feeling a bit under the weather and so we had a very quiet meal out, but actually it was just what I was after.

I realised yesterday that it's the TINIEST of things you take for granted in your life before you have a baby, not the big things like wild holidays or mid week benders or that kind of stuff.

It's things like waking up in the morning at your own pace - collecting your thoughts as though you'd scattered them over your pillow and bedroom floor throughout the night whilst looking out of the window, yawning.

Sigh. I wouldn't change Arlo for all the gathered thoughts in the kingdom, but it was really nice to get the chance to do it just for one frosty morning.
