Bald Eagle
We had a great bird day today. It started not so great in the park. I hoped to see the owl that Ian has seen twice. He was nowhere to be found.
Next we went to the Bellingham Farmer's Market so I could buy some bread from Raven Bread, one of my favorite vendors. We munched on meat pies and then we headed down Chuckanut toward Edison.
We stopped at the Chuckanut Bay Gallery to shop a bit and then went on. The drive down was lovely and we had a coffee at Tweets and visited both the Smith Vallee and the IE galleries. Both shows were great. We hadn't seen any special birds yet but on the way home we hit gold.
Ian had not seen any eagles yet. We ended up seeing two, one in a nest and the other on a telephone pole. We also saw five turkey buzzards, a harrier hawk, a red tailed hawk, barn swallows and various other LBBs. (little brown birds). We both got some great shots. This was my favorite of the eagle on the telephone pole.
