Mum's Birthday Get together
An early start for us today, leaving Gresham at 9.40 for Manda's in Ware, to celebrate Mums birthday. Mollie did the first hour taking us to Swaffham, where we swapped and i took the wheel. We arrived at 12.25. Mum and Dad were already there and my cousin Louise and her children and my Aunty Sue all arrived just after us. We were all joined together to celebrate mums birthday.
It is 3 months yesterday since my uncle David died. We talked about him a lot. Several of us have had vivid dreams or 'visits', and feel David's presence. He will never be far away, and in a way, was the reason we were all together today. How he loved a party or social gathering, and of course his family.
We played board games, and chatted. Manda had done a lovely lunch, but all too soon it was time to leave. We said our goodbyes, hoping to get together again in the summer. Maybe everyone will journey north next time, to our kneck of the woods. Party on the beach maybe.?
We were home in 2 hours 20 minutes. A record for us i think! Tired now, so just chilling in front of the tv. Another weekend over too quickly.
I am aware that there was also a big sporting event going on, just a few miles up the A10, so I'd like to use this opportunity to congratulate all those, but especially the 3 people i know, who ran the London Marathon today. It really is an amazing achievement, whatever your ability. I am totally in awe, as it is something i know i couldn't even dream about. So well done all you runners out there, especially Hannah, Alan & Matthew.
