Wheel Nuts Motor Show
This was held in the grounds of the school where I work. Apparently it was a good 'un. I was running a card stall so I did not see any other action.
However, I enjoyed talking to friends old and new, and I sold enough cards and made some contacts. The drive -themed music over the tannoy was good: I heard the Clash's Brand New Cadillac; Crosstown Traffic by Jimi Hendrix; Ol' 55 from Tom Waits, and much more. For my £1 go on the bottle stall, I won a bottle of Budweiser AND a bottle of Port!
Steve picked me up at almost 4. I had a quick meet up with Incredibish/Mark, who'd come up on his motorbike on CleanSteve's recommendation. The show was so busy that they never managed to bump into each other...
Later, I went to the pub to see an exhibition of photographs of Stroud people and their wheels. These were not just bikes and cars, but prams, scooters, wheelbarrows, and even a sellotape wheel! The singer Emily Barker, who lives in Stroud, was due to play later at the pub, but I had a roast chicken dinner to go home to. Later, I stood on the front step trying to snap the sunset, and wondered where else in the world I could stand in a domestic garden and hear a gig for free.
The cards can be seen at www.helenascards.co.uk
I don't make these ones, I sell them. They are printed in the UK and don't coat the earth.
