Nature keeps me waiting

Lots of people have posted shots of Snake's-head Fritillaries over the last few weeks and my wildlife trust has already carried out the annual count in the meadows to the west of Oxford. The little patch of fritillaries in my garden (a cold, shaded spot!) seemed to have given up and gone back to sleep. I forgot all about them and they surprised me today by producing a first, perfect flower. I mustn't be so impatient!
