The incompetent plumber

I have real horror stories about me and plumbing but today I excelled myself, but in a good way.
The ceramic tap inserts are as old as the kitchen, installed in 2008 so eight years. The two hot ones (kitchen & utility) have been dripping for more than a year but I'd never changed taps like this so left it until it got worse recently. I decided it was time I took the bit between my teeth, or the plumbing wrench in this case, and got on with it.
Picked up the new ceramic inserts from Homebase and they were both fixed and drip free in less than 10 minutes.
I even shocked myself!
