Harrods

Harrods - no, not the upmarket department store located on the Brompton Road in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea - but three varietes of sweet pea bearing a family name. These are: Chris Harrod (light blue), Karen Harrod (mid-blue) and Zillah Harrod (lavendar). I'm also growing Mark Harrod (scarlet) but not Janetta, Len or Valerie. Not surprisingly they are all raised by Sydney Harrod at Cooltonagh Irish Sweet Peas in County Londonderry. They are wonderful sweet peas but this year's weather, and some inept cultivation on my part, haven't done them justice.
