Saturday: There Were Storks
On the recommendation of a colleague we drove out to the village of Cigot (pronounced Chee-Got), near the Bosnian border, to see storks. For some reason, all the storks in the area have chosen to build their nests there - and it is true, there were loads of them, about three or four in each nest. Unfortunately, there was no way I could do justice to them without a telephoto lens so you will have to take my word for it.
There is also a great national park there so we will definitely return and explore a bit more. There was a nice little guesthouse, seen here, where we had a drink, and it might even be a place for a little overnighter at some point if we can tolerate the storks clapping their beaks.
We did have a plan to go to the open air cinema tonight where they are showing some Terence Davies films at the moment but the temperatures have really dropped and it is raining. A night in, then - we have definitely decided to watch 'Bladerunner - The Director's Cut', but can't quite decide on movie no 2.
