Herring Run

The spring herring run is an annual spring tourist attraction on Cape Cod.  The herring swim upstream from the ocean to fresh water ponds to spawn.
The old Stony Brook Grist Mill in Brewster is known for attracting crowds to view this amazing feat of nature.  Tourists aren't the only visitors.  The gulls arrive in droves for these easy pickings.  We were all a bit disappointed today, because the herring weren't there.  The water temperature was probably too cold.  This aptly named Herring Gull and a bunch of his buddies hung around just in case.
