Columbine
It was obvious at the gardens this morning that spring has arrived. The flowers are lovely, in particular the wisteria and irises. The warm weather crowd has arrived as well. I had gotten used to practically having the place to myself during the winter months. Today there was a school bus, countless strollers, and a line at the Butterfly House. It was wonderful walking around in the light breeze and full sun. I took photos of many different flowers, then I saw this plant on my way out. It was low to the ground and there was only one. I recognized it as a Columbine, because I've tried unsuccessfully to grow them in my yard. I couldn't resist the detail and color.
A big thank you to BikerBear for hosting the Flower Friday challenge. You're a big part of why I love blipfoto!
I would also like to thank those who have visited my journal and left comments, stars and hearts for my recent bird shots. You give me encouragement to get out there and try again the next day.
