Twinkle, Twinkle...

We were up and out by 5.15am, at Gatwick for 6am, on the plane at 8am and in Paris at 10am.  I even managed to get inside the cockpit of the plane to take a photo (see my extras).  We caught the airport bus to L'Opera and were at the hotel by 12pm.

When we  arrived, our room wasn't ready so they asked if we'd like a drink and something to eat. She took us to Le Cafe de la Paix adjoining the hotel and said it was free - our lunch cost €150!

Then when we finally got our 'very nice' room, it wasn't what we asked for - we requested an Eiffel Tower view room, but they'd upgraded us a bigger room (without the view). So I phoned reception and they said they did have a room with a view but it was smaller, and offered to show us it before we decided!  We loved it, so swapped and here's the view tonight.  We have two little balconies so we watched the Eiffel Tower twinkling at 11pm.

Earlier this evening Christine came to meet us at our hotel and we took her to Cafe de la Paix for a drink.  It was lovely to see her again and we alternated between French and English.  

Anyway, it's late and after our early start, it's time for bed.  Bon soirée et bon weekend!
