Cowslip wars

There is much upset in the local social media because the council contractors have mown the verges and roundabouts while the cowslips are still in flower. People seem to be very upset - cowslips are much loved. The local council have responded to the criticism saying that the contractors are instructed to leave clumps of flowers but it is difficult when the flowers are scattered. Cowslips seem to have made a come back in the last few years. Let's hope this doesn't set them back too much.
My blip is of a cowslip style primula in my garden. I am not sure whether it is a true cowslip but it is very welcome, and safe from our mower.
