Istanbul Day 2
After an amazing breakfast at the hotel terrace, we went to the lobby to wait for our tour guide Sanam. Once she arrived we set off to Kabatas from where tours to the Princess Island leave. It is a 1 hour 15 minute ferry ride and offers stunning views, one of which you see here.
Princess Islands is an archipelago in the Marmara sea and the largest of them is Buyukada, which was our destination. There are no cars and motorbikes on this islands but there are large houses belonging to rich Turks and foreigners. The island can only be navigated by horse buggy's called fenton's, by bikes or on foot. We did a tour of the island on a fenton which was really interesting after which we had a nice lunch at a fish restaurant called Italiano; there was nothing Italian about it and they offered us grilled sea bas, or lamd kebabs and kofta's. As dessert, we had fresh melon which was very refreshing.
After roaming around the island for a while, we took the ferry back to Istanbul and got dropped at the hotel. We were quite tired and after resting we started exploring the hotel vicinity which ended with dinner and a bit of shopping on the streets of Laleli.
