Utah Beach

We visited one of the beaches designated for the D-Day landings in June 1944.
It was a pretty sobering experience.

We had a good explore but it somehow didn't feel right to allow the children to play with their buckets and spades so we drove further along the coast where we visited a WW2 museum and then found the perfect spot for playing. It was very windy but perfect to watch the kite flying, make sandcastles and try and play frisbee.
