midwife crisis

What stunner of a day, it's been proper hot midsummer sunshine all day. Hubs and I got lots of outside jobs done this morning, including washing the windows, the sunshine does rather show up the state of ones panes darling and we had weekend guests arriving in the afternoon. It was a grand job to do in the sun and heat, until the smear spotting began, grrrr.
Hubs and I did our own mini time trial (a quick 45 mins around one of our favourite loops) and then watched the Tour de France time trials (while my breathing, nausea and heart rate slowly returned to normal!). Bradley Wiggins was amazing, it looks like a Brit is going to win the Tour for the first time in history tomorrow, we wished we'd nipped over for the weekend like many others to soak up the atmosphere and 'allez alllez allez' him on.
However we had our friends Carol, Thorston and 18 month old Calvin to keep us thoroughly entertained in a glorious sunny evening, we took a stroll along the foreshore and ended up outside a sunny Hacketts - again!
Calvin is scowling slightly (his mum says it's his resigned look), there was a 10 foot drop down the rocks to the beach that his dad was lovingly protecting him from.
